Compassionate Communication Cohort

  • Course

This four-week cohort learning journey is designed to support those who desire to lead for social impact by growing their capacities to restore connection, navigate conflict, and lead from a sacred center.

We will gather for four 2-hour online sessions on Thursdays, 7 to 9 pm ET, February 11, 18 & 25, and March 11, 2027.

This course offers tools for inner development and relationship leadership through a holistic introduction to Marshall Rosenberg's Nonviolent Communication, also called Compassionate Communication, and its applications for leading social impact initiatives.

Meet Your Facilitators

Compassionate Communication is led by Stephen Michael Tumolo and Julene Tegerstrand, partners in life and Everyday Peacemaking. They help leaders and organizations develop their inner capacities for relational leadership and conflict transformation. Julene brings years of experience in higher education, teaching Christian spirituality, intercultural studies, and peacebuilding. She weaves together Nonviolent Communication, spiritual formation, and practical dialogue skills. Julene is writing about Contemplative Peace Leadership at Humans Is A Verb. Steve is a Certified Trainer in Nonviolent Communication and a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner. He helps leaders navigate conflict, deepen connection, and find healing. He is writing about welcoming life through his Good Morning Substack. Together, they create a welcoming, engaging space for leaders at all levels to develop life-changing skills, cultivate empathy, and live from a sacred center.
